This owl and sentiment both came from a free stamp set which came with Creative Stamping magazine. There is such a great variety of stamps in this set. More of them will be appearing on my blog in the near future.

This card uses one of the nurse Margaret sets from Bugaboo. I have had this image coloured for a while, and now finally got around to putting her on a card. I kept it fairly simple, because the sentiment to go with her was too big for the front of the card.
Here is the sentiment on the inside of the card.

Last week I didn't manage to keep up with posting something to my blog at least once a week as I wasn't able to get to my cardmaking stuff. I am currently spending a couple of nights staying over at my Grandma's house though where my crafting supplies are so I'm getting a few things made ready to post to make up for it. I have been working on a few non-card projects too, but I'm waiting until they are finished to post them.
This card uses an image called Rosie from Mami Doodles. I recently bought a bargain bag which contained a selection of products from Dovecraft's Sugar & Spice range. The paper on this come from that collection.

For James' birthday present I wanted to decorate a photo frame for him. I bought three so that I could do another couple of ideas too. This post is one of those other ideas.
Here is what the original frame looked like.
Then I covered it in buttons from the Elzybells Colour Co-ordinates button collection in Chocolate Brownie. I wish I had bought more of these button collections when Elzybells was still open, they have a great variety in them.
It's not often I start off with a project idea and it turns out exactly as I had imagined, but this one did.
Speaking of James though, he is now out of hospital. He came out on Wednesday, with a lovely bright green cast on. Thank you for everyone that left comments wishing him well. I passed them on to him and we both really appreciated them.

Today is James' birthday, and as this is a scheduled post I don't have any more news about his foot. So I'm just going to share his birthday card. I wanted to make him something based on Star Wars so I did a quick search for something to used. The only stamps I found were rubber ones, and I didn't have time to wait for an order to arrive. Then I came across this site which has a few templates for Star Wars themed snowflakes. They looked like something a bit different to use on a card, so I tried to choose the simplest one, since it was my first try. I used the storm trooper one and made it into a circle easel card.
I had a problem sticking it down though so I didn't like how it ended up looking. I decided to retry it, and this time made it bigger, which meant I could add more of the details. It ended up being too big for a card, so I made it into something for him to stick on his wall. Here is the second attempt.

Before I get to today's card I have some news to share. On Friday night James and I went to a friends house for a party. While we were there James broke two bones in his foot. He is currently in hospital, and it's looking like he will be in until Tuesday. It means he will be in the hospital for his birthday, which is on Monday. I am trying to get in for visiting times as often as I can, which means I'm not going to have much time for making anything. I have a couple of cards ready to post though so my blog shouldn't be too quiet. So, on with the card. I used a couple of Dustin Pike stamps to make this scene. It's a pretty simple card, but I like how it turned out.

I made this card for this weeks CPS sketch challenge. Their challenge blog can be found here. These characters from My Grafico instantly popped into my head when I saw the sketch so I had to use them.
Yesterday James and I went for a walk at the local reservoir just before the sun started going down and then went to my Grandma's so I could make a quick card. I used one of the Kenny K images that I coloured recently, and kept it fairly simple.

Yesterday I felt like doing something fun on my nails. Between me and James we decided I should do Monsters Inc. inspired nails. I based my designs on the two main characters, so on my left hand I have blue with purple patches to represent Sully and on my right hand I have green with yellowy green spots to represent Mike.
